Nail Technology is by far the fastest growing, most lucrative section of the Beauty Industry at this time.
A sampling of some fairly recent statistics show that in the Western world the following percentages of women regularly have their nails done by a professional:
USA 78%
Europe 63%
Australia 39%
New Zealand 19%
Obviously this means that the only direction the Nail Industry in New Zealand can go is up! It's a growth market and the Industry is crying out more and more for well trained, qualified Technicians.
Training with a Certified Training Centre such as MBM Nail Academy is your guarantee of gaining a qualification that is recognised all over the western world.
Training courses are held monthly except for December and January. To ensure maximum benefit to each individual trainee, class sizes are limited so be sure to reserve your place early.
Each course runs for 8 days over a two week period; Monday to Thursday from 9.00am to 3.00pm. The training is comprehensive and covers every element necessary for the trainee to become a fully qualified Nail Technician. After completing the 8 day course, trainees then continue their studies at home incorporating practise on 'models,' friends and family until they are ready to sit their practical exam.
A complete Nail Technician's starter kit of all necessary products (valued at NZ$750) and comprehensive course manual (valued at NZ$150) are included in the course resources kit.
Trainees are often ready to sit their exams within 3 months, although some arrive at this point sooner, and some a little later. This does not affect the individual trainee’s ability or chances to qualify as a Nail Technician. Although there is no written exam the very detailed technical manual included in the trainee's kit is the resource from which students are expected to continue learning about such things as skin and nail conditions etc. The exams comprise performing a full set and a backfill. Trainees are assessed on their technique, their ability and the times taken for each task. There is no fee required for sitting your exams.
Two certificates may be awarded the Trainee; one a Certificate of Attendance at the completion of the course, the other, a certificate of Full Qualification if a pass mark is achieved in the exam. Note: All trainees receive a Certificate of Completion of the course whether they receive a pass on their exam or not. Also Note: Failure to achieve a pass mark at exam time does not exclude the trainee from sitting the exam again.
